Thermal fire detection
Thermal cameras continuously monitor defined areas for abnormal temperature increases, providing an additional early-warning layer around combustible materials, stockpiles and processing areas.
ANPR & vehicle intelligence
ANPR supports entrance, exit and vehicle monitoring. At household waste sites, it also helps identify repeat attendance patterns that may warrant review against site access and waste-acceptance policies.
THERMAL EARLY WARNING
See abnormal heat before it develops into a larger event.
Waste and recycling environments can contain materials capable of generating or retaining heat. Thermal monitoring allows defined areas to be observed continuously for abnormal temperature conditions that may not be apparent through conventional CCTV alone.
Where appropriate, temperature thresholds and alarm zones can be configured so that an abnormal condition generates an alert for assessment and escalation.
Thermal detection forms part of the wider site fire-safety strategy and is not presented as a replacement for a compliant fire detection and alarm system where one is required.

Suitable CCTV and alarm activations can be monitored through the MPS NSI Gold Alarm Receiving Centre. Operators assess relevant events and escalate them in accordance with the agreed response procedure. Where appropriate, audio intervention can provide an additional means of challenging unauthorised activity.
