Education estates range from individual school buildings to extensive multi-building campuses containing teaching areas, sports facilities, car parks, external spaces and restricted operational areas. Each presents a different combination of access, safeguarding and security considerations.
MPS assesses the environment as a whole and applies appropriate security solutions according to the layout, identified risks and operational requirements of the site. The objective is to provide effective protection without introducing unnecessary barriers or disruption to the people who use the campus every day.
LOCKDOWN & EMERGENCY ALERTING
Clear communication when it matters.
Educational establishments may require procedures for communicating serious incidents and initiating lockdown, invacuation or other emergency responses. MPS designs alerting systems around the establishment's own emergency procedures and the physical layout of the campus.
Depending on the requirement, system options include whole-site, individual-building or zoned activation, with distinct audible and visual alerts, secure activation methods, resilient power arrangements and integration with appropriate PA or communications infrastructure.
Visual alerting also supports areas with high ambient noise and people who may not readily hear an audible warning, helping emergency communication reach different parts of the education environment effectively.

Where an education site already has established security, communications or network infrastructure, MPS assesses suitable existing systems and design new technology around them. This helps reduce unnecessary replacement while allowing the security environment to develop as requirements change.
